This is where you delete your account with Gather, our church's app.
In the app
Open Settings and tap Delete account at the bottom.
Without the app
Enter your account's email address. You'll get a code that deletes the account.
What happens then
- You are signed out on all your devices at once. Your account is gone for everyone.
- After 30 days it is erased for good: your email address, name, date of birth, devices and memberships. Until then it stays stored, hidden, so that the people responsible can still follow up a concern about the safety of children and young people.
- Messages you sent to others stay in their chats, from "Deleted account", also where someone forwarded them. If you want them gone, delete them in the app first; copies others forwarded only they can delete. Deleted messages are gone for everyone at once and erased for good after 30 days.
- Codes are deleted after 7 days, server logs after 30 days, backups after 14 days.
- You can sign in again at any time. You then get a new, empty account.
